Winter is Coming. Some teams aren't adjusting as fast as the seasons are. With these 6 C's of building High Performance Teams in your toolbox... No images? Like the seasons changing, we have all adjusted, transformed and adapted over the past 15 months. I have noticed how the teams I work with adjust and grow through the epic changes brought via the pandemic. To find out if your team is disengaged, discouraged or exhausted, please see below for the assessment I offer you as my gift. But first... MM&A 6 C’s of successfully building High Performance teams:1. Clarity – Every team member must have a crystal-clear understanding of the team's goals; what is expected by whom and by when, to get there. 2. Commitment – Discussing team members' commitment to goals is an essential. Simply observe successful sports teams like the most recent Football World Cup, where the French won… their commitment and passion was palpable. 3. Communication – This is the glue that holds a team together. Since approximately 70% of communication is non-verbal, much is lost in a virtual environment. Be aware of the pitfalls and the differences in our individual perception, then find creative ways to re-connect. 4. Collaboration –The virtual workplace world can easily cause disconnection. Participants are often not truly being present though the camera is on. When you collaborate across silos, levels of engagement and team results improve. 5. Care Consistently – Get your team's input to set foundational behavioural practices to ensure you consistently check-in, connect, listen and care. You cannot drive lasting performance any other way. 6. Celebration – Never underestimate the power of celebrating successes and appreciating small wins. It encompasses gratitude, motivation, encouragement, reward and flow.
Recent feedback from Jaco Burger, GM Property Management, NAFPROP: "Marichen was engaged to assist our EXCO to become a more cohesive unit. It is testimony to her skills that despite the recent global challenges, having to navigate individual and group sessions on virtual platforms etc., the Nafprop EXCO are still intact and stronger than before. Without Marichen's engagement, this would not have been possible. She's a great listener." You may be wondering: ~ My team is exhausted. How do I re-engage and re-enthuse them? ~ How can I lead my team effectively through this next phase? ~ How do we get the broader organisation to collaborate better virtually? Team AssessmentPlease access our short Team Well-being assessment (our gift to our newsletter subscribers). Please reach out to me to discuss any issues you may find; I work with teams professionally, whether individually or together. In closing: To survive and grow, businesses depend on turning objectives into results. Therefore, setting clear team goals should be a top priority, kicking off the 6 C's to cultivate the culture in which such goals are then achieved. I wish you a wonderful autumn and every success on your journeys.
