A joke, at first
What appears to be a normal picnic table, has been transformed into something interesting.
It all started as a joke when this table was marked on Google Maps as "The Bench of Wisdom". Several people paid it a visit - many were inspired and others just could not find the "wisdom" that this table apparently had.
But recently we turned the top of the bench into a chalkboard where people can now physically share their wisdom or read that of others.
A small gesture can go a long way!
Stranded Sea Turtles
Due to cold ocean currents and big swells, sea turtles end up getting stranded along our beaches. They often have sustained injuries, hypothermia or they are in a state of shock.
The only action we need to take is:
1. Call Tenikwa 082 486 1515/Plett Marine Animal Stranding Network 079 463 4837 to report it.
2. Place it on a nice dry towel/cloth in a small container until the team can collect it.
3. Do not put them back into the sea, put it in a tub of water, try to feed them or leave it even if you think it is dead.
