Have you declared the Invasive Species on your property yet?
All landowners must submit a Declaration of Invasive Species to the Department of Environmental Affairs (DEA) by 01 October 2016! If your property is over 1ha, a management plan must also be submitted. Every landowner also has a 'duty of care' to remove invasive species from their land.
This liability passes to new owners, and as such the seller of any immovable property must notify the purchaser in writing of the presence of listed invasive species on that property prior to the conclusion of a sale agreement (i.e. the Declaration must be provided to prospective purchasers as well as the DEA).
