POST SHOW RESULTS

08- 10 September 2016 saw the launch of the Small Business Expo (SBE) co-located with #BuyABusiness Expo (#BABE).  The show was a resounding success with over 7000 key, targeted visitors attending.  The show positioned itself as a serious business show and did not disappoint exhibitors or visitors. 

This first of the new format SBE is the culmination of Reed Exhibitions’ commitment to small business development in South Africa, having been on this frontline for over 20 years. Carol Weaving, MD of Reed Exhibitions said that the platform addresses the crucial gap of mentoring and knowledge sharing amongst players in the landscape. “Small businesses are the fulcrum of our economy and there is urgent need to support and nurture them. What the Small Business Expo kicked off with this new format is a dynamic platform that will live to be the hub of support on an ongoing basis. This allows for an always-on cross pollination of ideas, ongoing connection, and networking that will elevate SMEs. This longevity for us at Reed Exhibitions is really why we do what we do,” she concluded.

Exhibitors enjoyed access to a match-making diary and speed networking sessions which encouraged setting up meetings with investors, buyers and fellow exhibitors with the result of creating opportunities to connect, collaborate, network and do serious business.  As a new feature to show, the diary system and networking was very well received and will grown and developed for 2017.

Visitors had access to 180 SME's at the Small Business Expo as well as the access to #BuyABusiness Expo which offered business opportunities and the potential to enter into business ownership with one of the many franchises available. Over 20 industries were represented at the SBE, including Agriculture, Construction, Education, Manufacturing, Technology, Communications, Catering and many more.
